1. REQUIREMENTS
ELIGIBILITY
1.1. Conditions:
a) paid participation in athletic or performing arts event.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1.2. Work authorization by Ministry of Labor in Brazil is required prior to visa application.
1.3. First arrival in Brazil must take place within 90 days from the date the visa was issued.
1.4. This visa is good for multiple entries within the visa's duration. Please note that even when the validity of the visa exceeds 90 days, authorized stays are for a maximum of 90 days per visit (if necessary, an extension may be issued by the Federal Police in Brazil, if requested prior to the expiration of the authorized stay).
1.5. Brazilian nationals must enter and leave Brazil with their Brazilian passport only.
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED AND PROCEDURES
1.6. Submission to the Consulate of one visa application form per applicant (Download here: Word_Format or RTF_Format), properly filled out (first and second pages) and duly signed (parents must sign for those under 18 years old and have their signature notarized), together with the following documentation:
a) passport with a minimum remaing validity of six months (it must also have at least 2 blank pages available);
b) one recent 5x7cm passport-type photograph of applicant, showing entire face (must be front view) in white background. Snapshots and computer pictures are not accepted;
c) letter from sponsoring organization, clearly stating the precise nature of the event;
d) Yellow fever vaccination certificate, as applicable, i.e., if applicant traveled within the last 90 days to any of the following countries: Angola, Benin, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Colombia, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Ecuador, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, French Guiana, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Guyana, Kenya, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Panama, Peru, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Suriname, Tanzania, Togo, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda or Venezuela. Please note that yellow fever vaccination is advisable if applicant's destination in Brazil includes any of the following States or regions: Acre, Amapá, Amazonas, Federal District, Goiás, Maranhão, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Pará, Rondônia, Roraima, Tocantins, south of Piauí, west and south of Bahia, north of Espírito Santo, northwest of São Paulo, west of Paraná, west of Santa Catarina and west of Rio Grande do Sul.
e) appropriate payments, as applicable.
1.7. The requirements listed are not all-inclusive. When processing a visa submission, the Consulate may request additional information/documentation.
CONSULAR FEES
1.8. The consular fee for a Temporary Visa III is of Cnd $72,00, which must be paid by means of money order or certified cheque to the “Consulate General of Brazil in Toronto”. Cash will not be accepted.
1.9. The Consulate will accept visa submissions by the applicant in person or by a third party, acting on his/her behalf – an extra fee of Cnd$18,00 (eighteen dollars) must be included.
1.10. The Consulate cannot and will not recommend travel/services firms and makes it clear that all of them receive same identical treatment by the Visa Section of this Consulate. It is wise therefore to shop around and compare costs in case you use a travel/services firm. Minimum processing time is 10 (ten) business days, assuming all requirements are met. This does not include mailing time.
PROCESSING TIME
1.11. The minimum processing time is of 10 (ten) working days, not included the days used by the services provided by Canada Post.
APPLICATIONS BY MAIL
The same requirements above apply plus a pre-paid and self-addressed envelope (only Canada Post "Xpresspost", "Priority Courier" or "Registered Mail" will be accepted) and a processing fee of Cnd $18,00 per person (money order or certified cheque payable to the Consulate-General of Brazil in Toronto).
