Legalization of school documents
1. GENERAL INFORMATION
- A diploma or school transcript issued abroad will only produce legal effects in Brazil if legalized by the Consulate General.
- The Consulate General only legalizes diplomas and school transcripts from educational institutions in the area of its jurisdiction.
2. REQUIREMENTS
Documents
- Submit the original school document to be legalized (on a school letterhead paper, with address, signature of the school authority and official stamp and/or watermark stamp).
Fee
- The consular fee for legalization of school documents is Cnd $9,00, for each document, which must be paid through money order or certified cheque to the Consulate General of Brazil in Toronto. Cash will not be accepted.
3. PROCESSING TIME
- The processing time for the legalization of school documents is five working days.
4. MAIL SERVICE
- The legalization of diplomas and school transcripts may be done by mail. A pre-paid and self-addressed envelope from Canada Post (registered mail, xpresspost ou priority courier) must be sent for return. The Consulate General apologizes for the inconvenience, but only Canada Post envelopes are accepted. The Consulate will not be held responsible for lost, stolen or delayed mail.
